While driving my mobile billboard, several individuals approached me to share their negative surgical experiences with Dr. Antero (owner of Tuscany Podiatry). In addition, I came across online posts describing similar outcomes, and I have been in written contact with others who allege that Dr. Antero botched their surgeries. Below are some accounts of Dr. Antero’s work.
These stories — and my own experience with Dr. Antero — raise serious concerns about Dr. Antero’s competence.
The first example involves an individual I will refer to as “JL” to protect his privacy. JL described an experience similar to mine, including both a poor surgical outcome and a lack of informed consent. JL stated that he underwent surgery without being told that a non-surgical option was available to address his issue. In my case, I wasn’t informed of minimally-invasive surgery (MIS) — Quacktero simply didn’t tell me about MIS because she wasn’t trained to perform any such procedures.

The second account, from “TE,” is more severe. TE reported undergoing multiple corrective surgeries and visiting 7 doctors to correct Dr. Antero’s surgery (the part about multiple corrective surgeries was in a Google review — it’s not listed in the discussion below). According to her account, Dr. Antero’s incompetence caused TE to suffer significant pain and a subsequent diagnosis of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS), which has required at least one visit to the emergency room.

Another example comes from an online discussion. One woman stated she was “pretty sure” that Dr. Antero “messed up a few people,” although she didn’t provide specific details. A second woman described a serious complication following a toenail removal procedure, which she attributed to Quacktero’s medical instruments being improperly sterilized. Of course, I can’t independently verify that woman’s claims, but based on my own experience with Dr. Antero, I was not surprised to read them.

Below is another example of a patient alleging a poor outcome due to Dr. Antero’s incompetence. This person had a bad experience with Quacktero removing an ingrown toenail. Additionally, the poster’s brother had a similar experience when Antero removed his ingrown toenail. Not only that, but the poster’s great grandmother also had a bad experience with Quacktero.
In another account, an individual described a negative experience following treatment for an ingrown toenail. That person also stated that his or her brother and great-grandmother had similar experiences with Dr. Antero.
