A 4th Surgery!

I’ve already written here and here about how Dr. Patricia Antero’s (Tuscany Podiatry) incompetence required me to get two revision surgeries. But thanks to Dr. Antero’s supreme quackery, my nightmare continues, as I’m currently recovering from my FOURTH surgery that I had in December 2024. As of the date of my last surgery, this ordeal has lasted almost 15 months, and it’s still not over.

The most consequential way in which Dr. Antero botched her surgery was that she excessively shortened a bone in my foot (the only bone she cut). It’s also worth restating that Dr. Antero didn’t tell me about an alternative procedure I could have had to address the original minor problem with my foot, which was minimally-invasive surgery (MIS). Had I known about the MIS option, I would have chosen it because it has fewer complications than the surgery that Quacktero performed and involves less shortening of the bone. So the excessive shortening of my bone came from two places: an inferior surgical option that was performed by a quack, who shortened the bone too much, even by the procedure that she tried to do.

I produce more scar tissue than the average person does. That scar tissue again prevented the proper healing of my EHL tendon, so my new surgeon did a more aggressive tendon repair than was done in the previous revision surgery. The upside of this most recent surgery is that it will probably work. The tradeoffs are a loss of some functionality in my EHL tendon, and I’m looking at a lot more downtime. Indeed, it’s going to take over 5 months before I can start running again. That means that my foot won’t be (mostly) healed until 20 months after Dr. Antero botched my foot with her quackery. It will take me a lot of time after that to regain the cardiovascular fitness that I once had, to lose the nearly 30 pounds that I’ve gained, and for my bloodwork to return to normal. In one year, I went from having a normal A1C to now being prediabetic, and my triglycerides went from 42 mg/dL to 181 mg/dL (the reference range for triglycerides is 30 to 150 mg/dL, so my triglycerides went from being outstanding, to being out of range).

While it is true that Dr. Antero isn’t responsible for my producing more scar tissue than most, she is responsible for the fact that my bone was excessively shortened, which shortened my EHL tendon, which in turn required my EHL tendon to be lengthened. Had Quacktero not excessively shortened my bone, whether or not I produce a lot of scar tissue would be a moot point. In fact, had Quacktero told me about MIS, none of this would have happened to me.

[UPDATE: I’ve had so many surgeries to repair Dr. Antero’s quackery, that I had a pulmonary embolism (two, in fact). Dr. Antero’s quackery literally almost cost me my life! I cannot overstate how dangerous a quack Dr. Antero is. Read about my brush with death here.]
